Potty Cover - product review

So now your child is potty trained and as convenient as that is, how terrified are you to have your child use a public restroom.  Public washrooms are the most disgusting places you will ever be in, even after it has been cleaned.  When I use them, I use the squat method but my daughter isn't tall enough for that.  I have used toilet paper on the seat but it usually falls off even before she makes it on the seat.  I have purchased disposable covers that work well but don't cover the whole seat so her hands still touch the toilet.  We try to have her use the potty before we leave the house but most of you can know, they always have to go at the most inconvenient times.

I was given the opportunity to review Potty Cover.  Potty Cover is a disposable toilet seat cover that covers both the sides and front of the toilet.  I have never seen a disposable potty cover that has this much coverage.  It offers the most protection from all those germs is public restrooms.  It covers the toilet seat without the use of an adhesive and still holds nicely.  This is especially good for those "I can't hold it much longer" moments.  Potty Cover is double layered with soft non woven fabric on the top and coated with a layer of plastic on the bottom.

My Memories (Scrapbooking software) - product review and giveaway

I have always wanted to start scrapbooking but finding the time to do so, well you mommies know where I am going with that one. The biggest problem with scrapbooking is getting the pictures you want to use printed.  I don't know too many people who still get their pictures developed.  Almost everyone I know owns a digital camera and their pictures are all on their computer, CD/DVD or their smartphones.  Digital scrapbooking makes it so you don't have to develop your pictures and they are all right there at the touch of your keyboard.

I was approached by My Memories to try out their software.  It was quite easy to download the software onto my computer and I liked that they had a version for both Windows and Mac.  Once it was downloaded on to my system, I restarted my computer and got started right away!   I was able to scrapbook while feeding the baby.  (Wouldn't be able to do that if I was going the old fashioned way)  First I started with the album templates already set up.  I was surprised at how easy the software was to use.  I was able to crop, remove red eye and enhance all the pics.  I added text easily and changed the fonts and colors to my liking.  Within 15 mins, I had created 6 adorable pages.

Now I am not the most creative person in the world but I liked that they also have the option to create your own pages.  I had fun going through all the different things I could do on my own.  Here is what I made on my first try.

It was  easy to do.  There are so many options to choose from whether you used their templates or create your own.  It can be a little overwhelming at first but so much fun to go through.  I can't wait to see how much more I can do.

Potty Time - product review

Potty training can be verrrrrry frustrating!  When is the right time, how do I know my child is ready, how do I teach them?  When Bella finally showed she was ready, I wanted to make it fun for her, so we used the reward system. I would have loved to have a fun video and music CD to make it an even more enjoyable experience.  I wish I knew about the video Potty Time!  I was given a wonderful opportunity to review thus fun video, that not only teaches your children about going to the potty but also teaches sign language.  I showed this video to Bella and to my friend's 2 year old, who is starting to show interest in the potty but is afraid to use the toilet.

Bella really enjoyed the video.  Even though she is already potty trained. She was very interested in the sign language.  Our next door neighbours are deaf and we have been trying to explain to her that the reason they don't say hello back to her is because they can't hear her.  Potty Time helped explain what I meant when I told her that they speak with their hands.  She also enjoyed the CD that came with it.  It has all the songs that are featured in the video and she asks to hear it every time we get in the car:)  My friends son also enjoyed the video. It was so much fun watching him dance along with it. 

Potty Time teaches children the importance of listening to their bodies.  This was a valuable lesson for Bella who is always afraid of missing something, so she will wait until the last minute to go, which a lot of time ends up in an accident. The video is 30 minutes long which is just the perfect length to keep any childs attention.  The animated characters are adorable.  My favorite has to be Hopkins:)

Potty Time is a great tool to assist parents in potty training.  Whether your child is ready or will be soon, it helps children understand the basics.  My friend is thankful for this video.  It has helped her son, and potty training is now enjoyable in their household.  They even sing some of the songs from the video when going. FunBites - product review

Hey moms, are you looking for a new way to make food and snacks fun to eat for your little one?  I know that my 3 year old gets bored easily of the same old thing.   I have made smiley faces on sandwiches, cut cheese and fruits into different sized cubes and even attempted making fun shapes, only to discover I am not good at making shapes out of food.  So how excited was I to come across FunBites?!?  FunBites were created so all you have to is place them on your food and they would make the fun shapes for you:)  It is done all so neatly and you don't have to lay a finger on the food either to make the shapes.

They are so simple to use.  Just place the cutter on top of your food and gently rock it until it has gone through your food.  Place the popper on the cutter and push through and your food is ready to eat.  It really is that easy.  I have used these for Bella's cheese and her sandwiches and she loves them.   Some other great features of FunBites are that they are dishwasher safe (YAY) and BPA free.  I can't wait to use them on fruit to make yummy fruit salads this summer (tis the season).

Okay Ladies, we all love to be pampered and get manicures and pedicures, am I right? (insert head nod here). The problem is, it may not always be affordable to have them done as often as we would like.One of the things I love to get done when I get a mani, is nail art.  This too can get pretty expensive.  I've seen places charge anywhere from $5 - $10.  When I was given the opportunity to review nail art stickers from Onlinenailbar.com I was really happy.  Being on mat leave, I'm on a budget so being able to do my own mani at home and still get my nail art done is wonderful!

Empire Reel Babies

Ok all my Canadian mommies, this one is for you!  How many times have you watched a trailer for a new movie coming out and thought I would LOVE to watch that movie in the theatre.  Then you remember you have a young child who you are breastfeeding so getting to the theatre to watch a new movie isn't easy.  After all, who wants to inconvenience other paying customers with the possibility of a crying baby?  Plus the movies are to loud and will definitely wake my sleeping child or scare them.  Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for it to come out on DVD or on pay per view.  Well, you no longer have to feel that way:)

Empire Theatres, found across Canada, offer a program called Empire Reel Babies.  Twice a month you can watch a new release with your baby and other moms who are in the same boat as you.  They keep the lights dimmed rather than completely off so you and your kids can feel comfortable and the volume is lowered.  I had the pleasure of watching This Means War in the Kitchener theatre today and was very happy with what I saw. 

There was a spot just outside the theatre to park your strollers.  When I walked in I noticed they had set up a change table, so there is no need to leave the movie to change your baby.  They also had a table set up with creams and wipes in case you forgot something.  There was also a bottle warmer and microwave if needed.  Walking up to my seat I noticed that in the first row there was also a baby swhng.  I thought this was perfect.  Sometimes when Gian-Michael gets really restless the swing is all that works to settle him, so this was a feature that thrilled me. (Luckily I didn't need it today but I am glad to know it will be there when I do need it).  Also, for the month of February, you can bring a friend for free.  With the purchase of one admission, you will get a second free.  Click here for more info.
